St Stephen’s Nursery and Children’s Centre is situated in the heart of a culturally rich and diverse community in the London Borough of Newham. We have a three class maintained nursery, a fee paying day care nursery open from 8am-6pm five days a week for forty eight weeks of the year and a range of children’s centre services for parents and young children including a midwifery group practice.
The nursery and children’s centre became federated with St Stephen's School in April 2010.

The office opens from 8am-6pm Monday–Friday (some children centre activities are offered on particular Saturdays).
The centre is closed for one week between Christmas and New Year, one week in April and two weeks in August.
Our Vision
We believe:
- that by working together with a range of health and support agencies, we can offer a welcoming, accessible environment with outstanding services to meet the needs of our local community;
- that by working closely in partnership with parents, children have the best chance of achieving their full potential;
- that by fostering confidence and supporting attitudes of independence, motivation and decision making, children will develop the skills they need for 'life-long learning';
- that all children have the right to be valued, have their voice heard, live and learn together and to celebrate and respect the diversity of our community;
- that it is important for children to be supported by key people with whom they can develop close relationships as well as peer role models;
- that children learn through play in a stimulating environment, both indoors and out, which is safe and secure, nurturing, and challenging.
