St Stephen's Nursery

On Thursday 5th June, we were proud to welcome Edward Melhuish who is a professor of human development from Oxford University. He works with our school to celebrate and  share good practise  and today he brought some early years specialists who flew in all the way from Japan!

They enjoyed a full tour of the federation and particularly enjoyed seeing what happens in lessons from our 2 year olds all the way up to year 6. They were able to see a range of lessons in action and were particularly excited to see our Yayoi Kosama display, which our more able artists created earlier in the year to celebrate the work of this famous Japanese artist.

They spent a lot of time exploring the Nursery and Children's Centre where the teams showcased the amazing work that happens day in and day out and the tour ended with a rather emotional and rousing performance from our choir. Thank you to Eluned, Esther and the choir who really showed off their singing skills.

To thank us for the visit, the Japanese delegates gifted us with a traditional story telling tool from Japan. We are very grateful for this unique gift as it will continue to develop our youngest children's love for stories.
