HEADTEACHER'S NEWSLETTER - ISSUE 6 (3rd June 2019)
Welcome to the final newsletter of this academic year.
At this time of year, I once again find myself immensely proud of our Year 6 children. They had their SAT tests in May and they all worked incredibly hard. This was an opportunity for them to show all of the skills that they have learnt at St Stephen’s and their focus, determination, enthusiasm and attitude was excellent. Well done Year 6 and get ready for your busy last half term at St Stephen’s. Year 6 are still completing their writing assessments, preparing for their end of term production performance and we will be bidding them farewell with a theatre visit and a social leavers’ celebration. We must not forget our Year 4 children who will be completing times tables tests, Key Stage 1 children who have been involved in their Phonics revision and Year 2 SATs. They have worked hard and have been very well prepared to flourish in these tests. Results will be shared later this term.
A number of our nursery and day-care children will be moving to reception classes, at the end of this term. They will be moving to a variety of schools and I wish them a smooth and happy transition into their new classes. All children will have the opportunity to meet their teacher for next year during a transition morning in the last week of term.
I am grateful to staff and governors for their commitment and loyalty so generously offered to the school. I am delighted that St. Stephen’s continues to maintain such high standards and has enjoyed another successful year where pupils have achieved exceptionally well.
I along with the staff would like to wish you a restful and enjoyable Summer and for those of you observing fasts I wish you a peaceful Ramadan and Eid Mubarak.
Ms Neena Lall
