Nursery and Daycare Jubilee Celebrations

Our children had a wonderful time celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Over the course of the week before half term, they took part in a variety of activities focussed on our country’s longest serving monarch. They learned about her role, where she lives and the members of her family. They drew beautiful pictures of her and looked at books and photographs exploring how the country has changed since she was a girl. They also took part in some lovely conversations about her hobbies and interests, such as her dogs and horses.

During the week, each class worked together to create something Royal to be displayed at our whole-school Jubilee Exhibition next week. Red Room made the Crown Jewels; Green Room created a full-sized thrown, Blue Room made a frame and individual portraits of the Queen, while daycare designed their own special flags.

On Friday the children had a Jubilee picnic.  They all made cucumber sandwiches and danced to some traditional music.

Congratulations from all of us to Her Majesty The Queen.
