Physical Curriculum Day
Today the children were excited to be joined by their parents and carers for a day of physical fun and exercise. Physical Development is a prime area of the EYFS and the different aspects were represented in the three Nursery classrooms. In Green Room, we practised our gross motor skills with activities such as target practice, yoga, dancing and exercises. In Red room, the children showed their parents how to refine their fine motor skills with activities such as weaving ribbons, threading beads and creating sculptures with cocktails sticks and grapes. Blue Room concentrated on healthy eating and self-care – making fruit salad, washing dolls and learning about how to keep their teeth healthy.
Lots of parents came and joined us to experience not only the indoor activities but to get some ideas and tips on how to be more active outside. They enjoyed moving in different ways around the obstacle course, dancing and ring games around the parachute, as well as using bats and balls hung from the trees and hula hoop basketball.
